On 27th September, VANGUARD partners from the University of Eastern Piedmont (UPO) took part in the European Researchers’ Night 2024, the largest science outreach event in Europe. Held at the Department of Science and Technological Innovation in Alexandria, the XIX edition of the event embraced the theme “Research as a Common Good: Shared, Digital, Inclusive, Plural”.
The evening showcased research as a valuable community resource, promoting curiosity, experimentation, and societal openness. Opening remarks were delivered by Gian Carlo Avanzi, Rector of the University of Eastern Piedmont; Guido Lingua, Director of DISIT; and Giorgio Abonante, Mayor of Alexandria.
The night featured a variety of interactive activities and presentations, with visitors particularly enjoying the memory games and puzzles prepared by the UPO team. These activities encouraged active participation, allowing attendees to explore science through play and problem-solving.
