Objectives

The overall objectives of VANGUARD are to deliver an Advanced Therapeutic Medicinal Product (ATMP) of high translational potential, with properties of increased functionality and implantability and protection from immune destruction.

  • Increased functionality

    Through assessing the functionality of the bioartificial pancreas in vitro and in vivo and developing technological tools for pre-clinical upscaling and development of a clinical ATMP.

  • Optimised implantability
